Welcome to CORE

Clear-Minded, Open-Hearted Resilience Education

Education is a beautiful thing. It's not just about passing on knowledge—it's about fostering resilience, connection, clarity, warmth, and kind guidance. As education evolves, many parents and teachers feel overwhelmed.

CORE is a groundbreaking approach supporting educators through this overwhelm. It transforms how teachers, parents, and social workers nurture young people's mental wellbeing by connecting on a deeper level, recognizing the child's innate guidance system rather than viewing them as an empty vessel.

At CORE, we believe children aren't "at risk" but "at promise." They flourish when adults operate from a platform of clarity and warmth. Our focus is helping educators cultivate this state of being.

About CORE

What is CORE?

CORE (Clear-Minded, Open-Hearted Resilience Education) is a comprehensive approach to education and prevention, grounded in the understanding of the Three Principles of Mind, Consciousness, and Thought, as articulated by Sydney Banks. The essence of CORE is the recognition that all human beings have innate wellbeing and resilience.

From this foundation, educators and children can access clarity, connection, and emotional stability. CORE helps people see beyond judgment and reactivity, and naturally builds compassion, respect, and self-regulation.

More Detailed Insights

The Four Educator States

Educators and parents naturally shift between four states:

  • Warm-Clear (Ideal): Guidance with love and clarity - the optimal educational environment.
  • Cold-Clear: Structure without warmth—children may feel disconnected.
  • Warm-Confused: Affection without clear direction—children may feel insecure.
  • Cold-Confused: Lacking both warmth and clarity—can lead to instability.

CORE provides insights and tools to help educators and parents operate more consistently from the Warm-Clear state, combining clear guidance with genuine warmth.

The Three Axes of Development

CORE emphasizes balancing three essential dimensions for optimal learning and wellbeing:

  1. Form (F-Axis): Healthy structure, clear boundaries, rules, routines, and guidance.
  2. Relation (R-Axis): Quality of connection to others, meaningful communication, and empathy.
  3. Connection (C-Axis): Inner connection to meaning, purpose, self, and inner wisdom.

When these axes are balanced, children feel safe, seen, engaged, and free to learn and thrive. Real transformation comes from insights rather than external strategies alone.

Discover the Three Principles

The Three Principles Foundation

CORE is built on a simple yet transformative understanding of how human experience works. This understanding comes from the Three Principles of Mind, Consciousness, and Thought, first articulated by Sydney Banks, and further explored in decades of educational and psychological research.

Why This Matters for Schools

Many traditional approaches focus mainly on behavior management, techniques, or external incentives. The Three Principles point instead to the source of wellbeing and resilience inside every individual. When educators and students see how experience is created from the inside out, they naturally become calmer under pressure, more open to learning, less reactive, and more compassionate.

🧠 Mind

Mind is the universal intelligence behind life. It is the source of fresh ideas, resilience, and our natural capacity for insight. In education, recognizing Mind means knowing that no student or teacher is fundamentally "broken" or lacking. Everyone has access to mental health and clarity—even in times of stress or challenge.

💭 Thought

Thought is the power that creates the meaning we give to circumstances. For example, two students might face the same exam: one feels curious and ready, the other feels anxious and defeated. The difference is in how they think about it. Understanding this helps students and staff see that feelings like overwhelm or insecurity are shaped by thought—and can shift naturally.

✨ Consciousness

Consciousness makes us aware of what we are thinking and feeling. This awareness gives us perspective and space to respond differently. Instead of getting caught up in automatic reactions, students learn to step back and find clarity.

How the Three Principles Influence CORE

CORE takes this understanding and brings it into daily educational practice. Rather than adding more strategies to "fix problems," CORE helps schools create environments where insight and resilience grow organically.
